Where The Wild Things Are Skate Video - Spike Jonze would be proud!
Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 1:43PM Almost everyone is familiar with the amazing children's book Where The Wild Things Are and the new movie adaptation that was just done by the brilliant Spike Jonze. What many people might not know is that Spike got his start in films with skateboarding. Back in the day Spike Jonze and the now famous Jason Lee (My Name is Earl/Mallrats) made some skate films together which got the two of them started in their careers. (Lee was a top skater back then)
Spike moved on to continue work with sports, music, movies, and jackasses (literally-he directed the movies and TV show Jackass). He has worked with tons of famous bands (Beastie Boys to name one) and has directed tons of movie including his recent work of Where The Wild Things Are. Maybe in respect to Jonze or just being a young skater that enjoys the characters of the movie, young ripper George Karvounis put together a small skate video of him tearing up a park dressed up as Max from the movie.
I am sure Spike Jonze appreciates seeing this video which reflects his beginnings and where has come to now as an amazing movie writer/director.
