Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 6:09PM

Kevin Pearce, US Olympic hopeful and main challenger to Shaun White, was seriously injured Dec 31st, 2009 in Park City, Utah. Kevin was practicing for the Olympic qualifier due to take place next week at Mammoth Mountain, CA.
While practicing in the halfpipe, Kevin came down and hit his head above his eye on an icy part of the halfpipe and was knocked unconscious. He was immediately air lifted to a hospital in Utah where he under went surgery to relieve fluid build up in his brain. At the moment Kevin is in critical but stable condition.
Kevin is one of the top snowboarders in the world at the moment being one of the few to beat out Shaun White recently and taking second last year to White at the X Games by one point. It is very unfortunate to see such a talented and young (22 years old) athlete suffer this injury but hope for the best in his recovery.
His family has put together a Well Wishes to our Friend Kevin Pearce fan page on facebook where you can join and leave messages or be updated on his condition. Everyone at HEAL wishes Kevin a speedy and healthy recovery.
